Dressing down for Drought Relief
Our Ergon Energy Retail crew have been a little more casual than usual in their attire in the lead-up to Christmas, but it has been for a good cause.
Retail team members have “dressed-down in December” to raise money for the Western Queensland Drought Appeal.
Teams across Townsville, Rockhampton, Maryborough and Brisbane have chipped in a $5 donation to support families doing it tough on the land and in return have been able to wear casual clothes.
This simple gesture has already raised $795 for families and communities across Western Queensland suffering through more than three years of drought.
When a donation is made to the Western Queensland Drought Appeal, funds are loaded onto pre-paid debit cards or vouchers and distributed directly to landholders in western Queensland for them to spend on personal needs in their local communities. This keeps the money in the region, allows landholders to choose how they spend the money, and gives local businesses a boost with the extra trade.
